Reduction of impact noise
Impact noise is a special type of structure-borne noise that manifests itself when parts of the building structure – such as ceilings or stairs – start to vibrate. In acoustic terms, impact noise in buildings occurs not only when people are walking around, but also, for example, when moving pallet trucks or when something falls onto the floor.
The vibrations are felt in adjacent rooms. Noise levels can be minimised by installing the appropriate level of impact noise insulation in the floor construction.
Impact noise insulation: particular advantages of the Construction Mat
Installing the Construction Mat in the floor construction significantly reduces the transmission of impact noise. (∆ Ln,wP to 33 dB according to DIN EN ISO 10140-3). It offers a constant level of impact noise protection – even when the loading varies.
